Guidelines for Authors
The Nouvelles Chroniques du manuscrit au Yémen (nCmY) is an exclusively electronic publication. The journal provides full and open access to its content in a PDF version, free and without registration. The Journal guarantees long-term archiving.
Original articles for publication in nCmY will be double-blind peer-reviewed by external referees. Authors will then be notified if their submission has been accepted or not, and may be asked to revise their manuscripts in preparation for publication.
These guidelines are intended to lead authors through the steps from submission to publication and to provide them with general instructions for editing their texts. Some specific questions might therefore not be addressed here.
Authors should read the Ethics and Publication Malpractice Policy and do their best to comply with it. ADD URL

Please be consistent in using either British or American spelling. Texts should be grammatically sound. If you are not a native English speaker, we recommend that you have your text checked by someone (preferably an academic) who is.
- Illustrations, figures, tables, and maps may be included in the article, either within the text when explicitly requested by the author, or at the end. Black & white illustrations may be used. Pictures must be submitted in digital form and high resolution (300 dpi minimum), ideally as .tif or .jpeg. Should these formats pose any problems or should you have specific requirements, please contact us as soon as possible.
- Line illustrations and maps are welcome and must fit within the text area. Please bear in mind that any such material must be readable after uploading.
- Captions will be placed below illustrations, figures, tables, and maps. Permission to publish, copyright material must be obtained and added by the author to the captions, together with the name of the photographer when it is relevant.
II. Submission of article with a view to publication
Please submit your article as DOC, DOCX or other files that can be easily converted to Microsoft Word to the secretary of the journal: secr.cmy@gmail.com.
Articles will first be evaluated by the Director who may seek advice from members of the Editorial board and/or the Reading Committee. If the article is considered suitable for publication, the Director/the Editorial board may ask the Author to make some first revisions before the submission to the external reviewers.
III. Preparation of manuscripts upon acceptance
After the Director/Editorial board has received the reviewers’ reports, they will pass them to the Author who will be invited to revise the manuscript in the light of the referees’ remarks.
A schedule will be agreed with the Author for the preparation of the final version.
At this stage, it is expected from the Author that he will prepare his manuscript in accordance with the nCmY Stylesheet for the language of the article and obtain and prove permission to publish any copyright materials.
IV. Final phase
Authors will be able to access and revise their article until it is sent to the Journal Typesetter. During this stage, some adjustments may be requested by the Journal Director/Editorial board.
In preparation for publication, the Journal’s Director proofreads the whole of the Journal issue and makes any necessary minor revisions (eg typos, inconsistencies, etc.) in conjunction with the Typesetter. In case of doubt, the Journal’s Director will not hesitate to consult the Authors.
